Did Metro Station break up?
by Trevor Kelley Mar 24, 2010 at 10:48 PM
After shedding a few players last year, the remaining members of Metro Station have reportedly broken up for good. Well, maybe.
The band were scheduled to play something called “Tigerfest” at the University Of Maryland on April 25th. But allegedly they canceled on Monday after telling the promoter that they had split. It was then reported by the school’s independent newspaper, The Towerlight, that the band was over.

30 Seconds To Mars to host live web chat this Thursday
by Trevor Kelley Mar 24, 2010 at 7:47 AM
You got close to Bieber. You practically stalked Miley. Now it’s time to talk to Jared Leto and his band of faux-leather-clad rockers 30 Seconds To Mars as they host a live web chat on their official profile tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM PST. Write that time down.
One topic of discussion will likely be 30STM’s latest album This Is War, which included no shortage of big ideas and lofty concepts. (No wonder it debuted in the Billboard Top 20.) We’re pretty sure Jared will also be down to talk about how he was able to shut down Hollywood Boulevard for, like, the greatest bike ride ever.

Snoop, Bieber, Goldfrapp release records in hopes to save music industry
by Chapin Young Mar 23, 2010 at 12:18 PM
Everyone knows new music comes out on Tuesday. This Tuesday is no different. Nothing has changed. People will still go to their record stores and buy CDs far less than they did the Tuesday before that. And, of course, the Tuesday before that.
This will go on forever. Or at least until everyone in the music business is working at Auto-Zone. Or maybe not. Either way, this is what can you look forward to this Tuesday… screaming teenage girls take note.

The Gaslight Anthem reveal new album details
by Trevor Kelley Mar 23, 2010 at 10:18 AM
In the past decade, few bands have been able to channel the working class spirit of The Boss better than The Gaslight Anthem. Okay, that’s not exactly right. At least one other band has. But really, very few acts have channeled Bruce and then got the dude to sing with them at one of their live shows in England.
That was but one of the career highs that The Gaslight Anthem experienced following the release of 2008’s The ‘59 Sound. Which is why its follow-up, American Slang, has become one of the year’s most anticipated releases.
